The Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN) was incorporated as a Private Company Limited by Guarantee (RC 1011289) on the 21st of February 2012. It is positioned to provide connectivity infrastructure for efficient servicedelivery to its members and to assume full legal and technical responsibilities to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and the African Network Information Centre (AfriNIC) while operating under the guidance of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 1990, as amended in 2004.

This includes Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv), and Federal Ministry of Women Affairs - all three Implementing Agencies (IAs) of the SPESSE Project. SPESSE is conceived on the need to bridge the gap between insufficient supply of quality professionals in the procurement, environmental and social sectors and the lack of academic programs and curriculum in these sectors in the Nigerian education system. The cornerstone of SPESSE implementation is the creation of Centers of Excellence (CE) in Nigerian Universities to deliver a series of capacity building tracks in a sustainable manner in procurement, environmental and social standards.
The objective of the ACE Project is to promote regional specialization among participating universities within areas that address particular regional development challenges and strengthen the capacities of these universities to deliver high quality training and applied research.
The Blueprint-ICT-Dev Project is a flagship initiative and a critical component of the broader Blueprint for the Rapid Revitalisation of University Education in Nigeria, developed by the NUC in 2018 as a strategic response to critical challenges in the Nigerian University System (NUS). These challenges include insufficient infrastructure for teaching and research, inadequate ICT integration, weak research capacity, inadequate access to university education and the need for more efficient governance and academic service delivery.
The Investment in Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDICE) is a $618 million initiative by the Nigerian government to empower young entrepreneurs aged 15 to 35 in the tech and creative sectors. Co-financed by international banks, it provides critical access to capital, mentorship, and capacity-building to startups
